ARTIFACT:
This is a scarce 1968 United States Navy "Westpac Cruise 1968 USS America CVA-66" cruise book. Launched February 1, 1964, America was an aircraft carrier assigned to the 6th Fleet, and later the 7th Fleet. The book documents the ship's travels, including to Japan, Australia and Brazil, devoting a few pages to each of the groups associated with the ship on the cruise: Attack Carrier Air Wing 6, Fighter Squadrons 33 and 102, Attack Squadrons (VA) 82, 85, and 86, Reconnaissance Attack Squadron 13, Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 13 (Detachment 66) and Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 122 (VAW-122) and Heavy Attack Squadron (VAH) 10 Detachment. The book was published by the Cruise Book Office of Walsworth Publishing Company.

384 pages with black and white and color photographs and illustrations; approximately 10-7/8" in height and 8-3/4" in width and 1-3/8" in thickness.
