ARTIFACT: This is a scarce mid-1950s patch for the United States Air Force 42nd Fighter Squadron, 54th Fighter Group, Air Defense Command. The 54th Fighter Group flew F-86s out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until inactivation in 1958. The patch is in gray twill and shows an armored knight clutching a red missile.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 5" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/silk threads, mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces squadron patch collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MFJX13 LDDEX9/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows only very light wear and has a small spot of minor discoloration.
