ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa late 1930s or World War II Royal Air Force/Royal Canadian Air Force/Royal Australian Air Force hat badge by J. R. Gaunt. The badge has a J. R. Gaunt Limited of London maker mark on reverse. The badge has an eagle wreathed in bullion and is topped by a crown.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s-World War II.

SIZE: About 2-7/8" in height and 2-11/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with velvet accents and velvet backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: BY APPOINTMENT J.R. GAUNT & SON LTD. with maker's mark printed on backing.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The badge is gorgeous with some small spots of missing velvet.
