ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa 1916-1917 (World War I) enlisted man hat badge for the 219th CEF (Canadian Expeditionary Forces) Overseas Highland Battalion of Nova Scotia. This large badge is a crowned maple leaf reading "Siol Na Fear Fearail" (Breed of manly men) upon a banner.

VINTAGE: Circa 1916-1917 (World War I).

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has areas of light to medium wear.
