ARTIFACT: This is a scarce, early World War II United States Air Corps Ferrying Command distinctive insignia. The DI shows an aircraft sailing past the globe and displays different colored bars in code around the border. The DI is gold rather than silver, denoting its origin in an early period of the war.

VINTAGE: Circa early World War II.

SIZE: 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated bass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch.

MARKINGS: Initials scratched on reverse (DTM?).

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): This DI has spots of light wear and tarnish.
