ARTIFACT: Scarce 1950's – 1960's DC Metro (Metropolitan) Police Reserve Corps Sergeant Badge. This large gilt brass shield shaped badge features an eagle perched on top with a banner flowing from his beak which reads: "SERGT." The center features the large, raised number "11057" and surrounding it reads: "MET. POLICE RESERVE CORPS D.C.". Washington, DC Metro Reserve Corps served alongside the DC police force to assist in augmenting and supplementing many activities of the department, all the reserve force is a voluntary based service. All were certified by Chief of Police, some attended to public service duties, while others worked as armed uniform patrol carrying out similar duties as a career police officer.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950's - 1960's

SIZE: Approximately 3" x 2 1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped gold plated chromed brass with painted details.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with 'C' catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows minor to moderate wear mostly at high points, catch is missing rotating locking piece, and nearly all the paint and plated details remain intact.
