ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa 1880s Boston, Massachusetts Special Police badge. It is in of the oval type of badge is numbered 4248. The border has some decorative scalloping and there are a few embellishments interspersed among the letters and numbering.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880's.

SIZE: Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 2-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: 4248 on front.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old Massachusetts police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MABX14 LBGEX7/14 SBGEX04/19

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has some small spots of light to medium wear.
