ARTIFACT: Rare WWII United States Navy 580th Construction Battalion Mobile Unit (Seabees) chained badge. The gilt sterling badge reads "SEABEES" against a background of red enamel and below it depicts a bumblebee and a round yellow circle-burst that reads: "DONE", surrounding it reads: "C. B. M. U. #580 CAN DO". The main badge is chained to a small anchor that reads: "USN" in nicely detailed lettering.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately Badge: 7/8" x 11/16"; Chain: 1-5/8"; Charm: 7/16" x 5/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt sterling, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "W A CO. STERLING" on reverse of badge; "STERLING" on reverse of anchor

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): The badge shows minor to moderate surface wear, much of the enamel and gilt plated details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
