ARTIFACT: This is a Rare WWII USAAF/USN/USMC Miniature Escape Evasion Mini Compass in Water Proof Capsule for use in Pacific Theater.

WWII United States Army Air Forces or United States Navy Escape and Evasion Miniature Compass. These secret 'North Seeking' magnetic compasses were issued to USAAF/USN, allies, paratroopers, etc. This is a classic design featuring a square plate with two dots of radium paint and a red tip indicating North. The most well-known versions of these secret compasses were hidden within the brass uniform buttons.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/8" x 1-3/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plastic, Brass, magnet, celluloid

ATTACHMENT: Hole.

CONDITION: 10- (Mint-): Hardly any wear at all, plastic case shows aging, overall mint condition.
