ARTIFACT: Rare WWII Japanese Imperial Army clockwork signaling flashlight. The canvas bag cased flashlight features a steel arm on the front that winds up the gears inside to produce enough energy to drive the flashlight. Sadly the bulb has burned out, but the artifact still turns on and off and can be heard 'winding'. The canvas case features an adjustable strap and leather flap closure. The flashlight shows Japanese kanji, as does the on/off slide on the side of the case, and the light shows a steel hook for hanging. It is attached to the case with a cloth wrapped electrical cord. The reverse features two sewn leather strips for belt attachment.
