ARTIFACT: This is a rare sleeve shield for the Italian Fascist Youth Alpine (Alpini) Unit. The group began in 1926 as the ONB (Opera Nazionale Balilla) and was renamed GIL (Giuventu Italiana del Littorio) in 1937. The sleeve shield would have been worn as a shoulder patch, and is in painted zama white metal.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-13/16" in height and 2-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted zama white metal.

ATTACHMENT: Small holes.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The shield shows only some very light wear.
