ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War II United States Army Air Forces combination blood chit and escape/bailout map. The map is in cloth, and shows the way from K'un-Ming in Yunnan, China to Chabua in Assan, India with one side showing the eastern half and the other the western. One column devoted to translating the soldier's friendly message into seven different languages. Credit is given in one corner of the map United States Coast and Geodetic Survey for preparing the map for the USAAF.

VINTAGE: Early 1944

SIZE: Approximately 22-3/4" in height and 24-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cloth.

ATTACHMENT: N/A

MARKINGS: PREPARED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL, ARMY AIR FORCES, FOR THE AERONAUTICAL CHART SERVICE BY THE U.S. COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY, WASHINGTON, D.C. JANURY 1944; MAP NO. 133.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAGEM20 LEGEX03/17/20

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The map is in very good condition with normal creasing from folding, and light fraying to unfinished (as issued) edges.
