ARTIFACT: This is a rare short-lived circa 1949 United States Air Force Headquarters uniform distinctive insignia as deactivated in Air Force Letter 35-46. It is enameled in blue and was made by Gemsco of New York.

VINTAGE: Circa 1949.

SIZE: Approximately 15/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: GEMSCO N.Y.

ITEM NOTES: The DI you receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. This is from a post-WWII United States Air Force distinctive insignia collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. 2@MAEX14 LHEX5/14 S(1)VHEX05/20
