ARTIFACT:
This is an extremely rare NPEA student's dagger, and was a D-Day vet's bring-back. This is another artifact brought home by Radio Operator Clyde Williams, who was in the First Wave of the D-Day Invasion (please see link below for related products). Williams was attached to the 2nd Battalion, 47th Regiment, 9th Infantry at Cherbourg and to the 2nd Rangers Battalion at Pointe du Hoc. The dagger was purchased directly from his younger brother who recently inherited it along with a few other items also listed on the site. This is a great untouched "out of the woodwork" a great addition to any collection. The dagger would have been carried by students after four years of enrollment, and is engraved with the NPEA motto: MEHR SEIN ALS SCHEINEN (be modest but always excel). The National Political Education Institute (Nationalpoltische Erziehungsanstalt: NPEA] was formed in 1933 as a Nazi youth training ground.
