ARTIFACT: Rare late 1930's Reading Company Railway police badge #'d 57. The nicely detailed badge shows a streamlined "Crusader" engine at center with an armored knight whose arm and sword point in the direction the train is heading and seems to be riding atop the engine. A circle around the center embellishments reads: "READING COMPANY RAILWAY POLICE" in embossed lettering with an eagle perched at the top of the badge. The reverse shows a round disc with the numbers "57". There are a number of fakes of this badge in circulation showing muddy details and incorrect numbering, this is an example of an authentic one.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's

SIZE: Approximately 2 ½" x 2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome plated, nickeled brass

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with drop in swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS: "57"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCJM15 LCDEX5/15

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The badge shows minor wear, nearly all the plating details remain intact.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
