ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1890s police badge from the Brockton, Massachusetts, a city not too far from famous Plymouth. The large badge is a convex nickel-plated brass disc. The details on the badge are numerous and ornate, from the scrolling flourishes to the underlining of the letters spelling POLICE to the shortened serifs coming out of the top center of these same letters.

VINTAGE: Circa 1890s.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old Massachusetts police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEJX14 LEJJX5/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has only some light wear, mostly to the reverse.
