ARTIFACT:
This is a rare circa 1910s or 1920s Atlantic City, New Jersey Special Detective badge in the early style. The badge is in a riveted construction and was made by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. This badge just glows, and shows no evidence of the grift and grime the detective may have encountered doing his duty in the gambling mecca. The center of the badge shows the Seal of the State of New Jersey in relief with a double enameled border in dark blue and white encircling it.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1910s-1920s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-7/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical pin with half-cock type catch.
