ARTIFACT: This is an Rare ca 1915 United States Internal Revenue Service Badge of Storekeeper & Liquor Fee Agent Ralph W. Lilly.

Agents provided their own badges a this time, which is fairly early in the scheme of things, not too long after the reorganization of the organization in 1913 (most of the typical Eagle Top IRS badges out there are from the1920's). The badge has a great old hand-stamped look, and has the original owner's name as R. W. LILLY engraved on the back. 

VINTAGE: 1880s - 1890s.

SIZE: Approximately: 2-1/8" in height x 1-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: R. W. LILLY
