ARTIFACT:
Just a stunning example of the 2nd Version "Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1. Klasse" (Clasp to the Iron Cross 1st Class 1939), mint except for tarnish, in the very rare original case of issue. The Spange has a lovely light patina to the obverse, no doubt from having been displayed with the box open for years, and just a lovely bright reverse with only a spackling of patina. The case is an excellent example with a bold depiction of the Spange on front, and only the slightest of wear. Surprisingly unhallmarked, but still an excellent, hard to upgrade example. Appears to be silver, but could also be plated tombak since there is no content mark.
