ARTIFACT:
Rare circa 1970's United States Army 221st Military Police Detachment badge made in Okinawa. The 221st was reorganized and redesignated HHD, 221st MP Brigade on December 10, 1971 and was assigned to the Sixth US Army. The two-piece badge features crossed revolver insignia in the center. Along the top it reads: "MILITARY 221 POLICE 18" in black enamel detail. The reverse shows that the revolver insignia is attached to the badge with clutchbacks and string.

Approximately 2-1/2" x 1-5/8"
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt brass, chrome plated brass, thread
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal safety style pin with 'C' type catch, two pins with clutchbacks.

7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows moderate wear, some of the enamel and plating details remain intact.
