ARTIFACT:
BETTER PICTURES ON THE WAY!
This is a rare, early to mid - 1950s USN wings and photo grouping of American Volunteer Group (AVG / Flying Tigers) 2nd Squadron Flight leader, Commander Charles D. Mott.
The grouping includes a nice 4 x 6 Studio portrait fo Commander Mott in uniform, and a rare civilian photo in 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" for use in an ESCAPE & EVASION scenario!
There are also 3 USN pilot wings in the grouping: a beautiful bullion wing, a nice Meyer made metal wing, and a lovely GF lapel or cap wing. The metal wing could easily date to the Korean War period.
The grouping also includes a period newspaper article about Commander Mott, using the same image as the photo included in the group, and 2 hand-written notes in Commander Mott's and listing names and code numbers.
A nice half-Riker mount sized grouping of artifacts of an AVG Pilot!
