ARTIFACT:
This is a rare circa 1948-1949 decal for the United States Navy 2nd VF-93 fighter squadron featuring Woody Woodpecker, who was officially approved as the group's insignia in January 1949. This squadron existed from August 1948 until November 1949 and was carrier-based, flying F8F Bearcats. We have matching jacket patch for this decal listed separately.

Circa 1948-1949.
SIZE:
Approximately 7-1/8 in width and 6-7/16" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Color decal with original backing.
