ARTIFACT: This is a jacket patch for the United States Army Air Forces 58th Wing, 509th Composite Group/509th Bomb Group Jacket Patch for Nuclear Test Operation Crossroads. The group conducted the "e;Operation Crossroads"e; atomic bomb tests at the Bikini Atoll. There is a mushroom cloud at the center of the patch.

VINTAGE: Circa 1946.

SIZE: Approximately: 4-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton embroidery thread on cotton twill.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn on.

MARKINGS: N/A.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The patch shows minor to moderate wear.
