ARTIFACT:
Rare 1945 200 Yen Note signed "Richard I. Jones Colonel Infantry released from Rokuroshi September 8, 1945". Lieutenant Col. Jones, served with the United States Army 57th Infantry (Philippine Scouts) and was captured at Bacolod, Negros, Philippines. Prisoner 0-292839, Lt. Col. Jones spent three years as a POW. He was first held at Billibid Prison in Manilla, then transferred to Zentsuji, and finally Rokuroshi where he was liberated from in 1945. Lt. Col. Jones was a decorated service man, and was listed as an American Defender of Bataan & Corregidor.
