ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1939 or 1940 member badge or fob for the very exclusive Royal Western India Turf Club, a sports club focused on horse racing established in 1802. This badge has a low number and falls within the "Club" class, the highest club echelon (all members numbers 1,675 and under). The badge is beautifully enameled in green, blue and red and shows a horseshoe topped by an imperial crown. It is numbered on front and on reverse and has an English maker mark.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1939-1940.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/2" in width; cord is 7" in total length.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Enameled gilt brass, cotton/silk cord.
ATTACHMENT:
Cord, suspension loop.

748 on front and on reverse; WOLEWIS BADDES LTD. BIRMINGHAM.
