ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1930s lapel pin for the United States Navy's SB2U Vought Vindicator. This pin is the only one I've seen of its kind. The vindicator was a dive-bomber utilized in conjunction with aircraft carriers, namely the USS Lexington, USS Saratoga, USS Ranger and the USS Wasp. By 1943 most of the Vindicators had been relegated to training usage. This pin has a great luster and is heavily enameled.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in height and 1" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, heavy enameling.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX12 LABEX1/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows little wear and has one tiny spot of oxidation.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
