ARTIFACT: This is a Rare 1930's United States NACA National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics Sterling Member Lapel Pin. 

The predecessor of NASA, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) was founded in 1915 with the intent of being an advisory committee that would coordinate research underway elsewhere. It quickly became a leading research organization in the new field of aeronautics, pushing back the boundaries of flight until its transformation into NASA in 1958.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately: 1/4" in height x 7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling Silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking catch.

MARKINGS: STER 2066969 (Patent Number)

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The lapel pin shows slight wear and all the enamel detail remains intact, overall, it is in excellent condition.
