ARTIFACT: Rare 1930's Boston Police Captain Badge Series 7 with 2nd type numbering on reverse. This sunburst/clamshell/radiator style, Series #7, was used in the Massachusetts capital for just about 40 years, from 1920 until 1959. It is typical to find badges of this series with pin repairs and re-plating done during the period of use. The badge has the Seal of the City of Boston at center and above it reads: "CAPTAIN" in painted detail and below "POLICE" and it is topped by the Arm of Miles Standish. The base of the badge reads: "BOSTON" in embossed lettering. It is numbered on reverse "2113", interestingly this badge actually has two number discs soldered right on top of each other is it could have the 1st numbering style disc below.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's

SIZE: Approximately 3 1/8" x 2 1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold plated brass with painted detail.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS: "2113"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDBEX15 LHIEX9/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine—Excellent): The badge shows minor to moderate wear mostly to high points, much of the gold plating details remain intact, overall excellent condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
