Rare 1930's 101st Observation Squadron, Massachusetts National Guard Enlisted Man collar disk set by Amcraft Metal. One disc features a raised collar prop and the other reads: US MASS 101" in raised lettering. During the early 1930's members of the USAAF who were part of the 'Archie Club' established an aviation wing of the Massachusetts National Guard and built its own air base, which later became Logan Airport. It was named after General Edward L. Logan who served in the 26th Guard Division. The 101st also took care of the Spirit of St. Louis when Charles Lindbergh was in the area and they were engaged in air shows, county fairs, and other events throughout New England.
