ARTIFACT: Rare 1919 USS Tennessee BB-43 Launching Medal from New York Navy Yard. The USS Tennessee was damaged during the attack on Pearl Harbor, repaired and modernized. During WWII the USS Tennessee assisted with shore bombardments at the Aleutian Islands, Tarawa, the Marshall Islands, the Marianas, the Philippines, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and more! The USS Tennessee was in the Battle of Surigao Strait, the final battleship vs. battleship conflict ever. The medal has the original red, white, and blue ribbon tied to it, the medal reads: TENNESSEE in an abstract, cool fashion and the reverse reads: "U.S.S. TENNESSEE LAUNCHED NAVY YARD N.Y. APRIL 30, 1919"

VINTAGE: Circa 1919

SIZE: Approximately 1 1/16" x 1 7/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze, ribbon, and thread.

ATTACHMENT: Ribbon.

MARKINGS: Reverse reads: "U.S.S. TENNESSEE LAUNCHED NAVY YARD N.Y. APRIL 30, 1919".

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): Medal shows minor wear and very small areas of tarnish, overall excellent condition.
