ARTIFACT: This is a handsome submarine model from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard of the USS Albacore, which was commissioned in 1953 as a test sub. The details on this model represent the sub's original incarnation, without any later modifications. The sub can now be seen at Albacore Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1950s.

SIZE: 3" height and 10" width and 2-1/8" depth.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted wood with felted base bottom.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Model is in nice shape with one detail at front broken off.
