ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful grouping of artifacts from one of the ORIGNIAL, PIONEER CHP California Highway Patrol Traffic Officers, from the Stanislaus County Patrol: Eugene L. McCabe. 


There are some great old photographs, including the one of the Patrol Car, Motorcycles, Captain and Officers of the Stanislaus County Patrol, circa 1929!! Lots of photos of wrecks, etc. 

A couple of great newspaper clippings of McCabe making important arrests. Letters of commendation, and even a letter form Western Cartridge Company from when McCabe shot 104 straight clay pigeons at a PITA Pacific International Trapshooting Association event in 1943. 

None of McCabe's duty badges are present, but his great, 1952 Retirement Badge is present, engraved to him, with his dates of service and presented to him by the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, and made by Entenmann.

SIZE: Retired California Highway Patrol Badge: 3" in height x 3" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Retired California Highway Patrol Badge: Gold-Plated Brass with hard-fired blue enamel. 1934 sharp shooter badge: Nickel-plated nickel with hard-fired blue, and white enamels. 25 Years Service Pin: 10K gold-plated brass with hard-fired blue enamel. Revolver Range Award Medal: Gilt Brass with Silk Ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Retired California Highway Patrol Badge: Vertical kick-pin with drop-in locking catch. Revolver Range Award Medal & Victory Medal: One-plate Horizontal pin with tongue type 'C' catch. S.F. Police Shooting Medal: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking catch.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a State Police and Law Enforcement Collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJJV20 LBIIEX07/15/23

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The Retired California Badge shows little to no wear, 25 years service pin is in minty condition, but no disk-backing, 1934 Sharp Shooter Badge is in excellent condition, jsut some light tarnish, and The revolver range badge is in great condition (ribbon has little wear on the top), and the rest of the badge and medals are minor to moderate wear, only Victory Police Medal 'Ribbon' is poor condition. Patch shows removed from uniform and woolfelt edge shows moderate wear, Life member card back has remains of glue. All of the Photograph are in great condition. Scrapbook has 34 pieces of paper and most of them has some picture or news paper scraps or patches, photos. Overall, it is in excellent condition.
