ARTIFACT: This is a pair of World War II United States Army Flight Nurse Uniform Jackets that both belonged to 1st Lieutenant Evelyn Lucille Goodman. Both jackets have collar insignia, bars, ribbon bars and one patch and one wing each. One jacket is the regulation Women's Officers' Jacket, and the other is a custom made Women's Ike Jacket. They are both in olive wool. Included is some of Goodman's paperwork, including a copy of her Separation Qualification Record.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Longer jacket: 10R; shorter jacket: similar size (no tag).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Jackets: wool, silk lining, brass buttons; wing: one is gold-filled sterling silver and one is gold-plated brass; patch on longer jacket: velour embroidered in bullion and silk thread; patch on smaller jacket: wool embroidered in cotton/silk threads; insignia: plated brass; ribbon bars: silk-wrapped cardboard.

ATTACHMENT: Buttons; shorter jacket has one snap at waistband; wings, insignia: various clutch-back, horizontal pin with come-under swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS: Longer jacket: JACKETS WOOL O.D. WOMEN'S, OFFICERS' STOCK NO. 55É SIZE 10R LYDNELL MODES P.O. 860 DATED DEC. 29, 1943 SPEC. NO. P.Q.D. 2150 DATED DEC. 1943 CLASS B PAT. #1 JULY 10, 1943 PHILA. Q.M. DEPOT (on tag in pocket) and ACID TEST on wing; shorter jacket: GOODMAN E.L. written inside and 1/20 10K STERLING N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK on wing.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The jackets have a few small moth holes and light to medium wear to the insignia and patches.
