ARTIFACT: This is a pair of dog tags from the same officer: one pair from World War I and one from World War II. They originally belonged to Eugene R. Fellows, who served in the United States Air Service during World War I. A Vermont native, Fellows was an officer in both World Wars. A of the US Army Officers Register (not included) shows he retired as a MAJ in 1953. He was also a school teacher and postal clerk in Topsham, VT, and was married with 3 daughters. He was born in Philadelphia in 1888 and died in Morristown, VT in 1963. He is buried in Topsham. His Death Certificate (not included) verifies service in both World Wars.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I and World War II.

SIZE: WWI tags: approximately 1-3/8" in diameter (each); WWII tags: 1-1/8" by 2" (each).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Pot metal, brass.

ATTACHMENT: Holes.

MARKINGS: WWI tags (front): LT. E. R. FELLOWS *** AERO U.S.A. (one says VT in place of AERO U.S.A.); WWI tags (reverse): AIR SERVICE U.S.A. (the other has A.E.F. in place of U.S.A.); WWII tags: EUGENE R. FELLOWS 0-155715 T42 B BLANCHE M. FELLOWS 206 EAST AVE. BURLINGTON, VT. P. (on front of each tag)

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Ebay VEJX13 LADEX3/13 SeADEX12/14

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The tags show light to medium wear.
