ARTIFACT: Nice, old circa 1900's - 1910's "Stock" Old West Deputy Sheriff Shield Badge with hand stamped lettering and zig-zag engraved border. We don't knwo anything about the career of the earliest Deputy to wear this shield, but the last wearer's information is scratched on the reverse 1928 - 1932 H. E. Ford. The badge reads: "DEPUTY SHERIFF" and was worn on the Western Frontier, as it was found in New Mexico, and last used during the Prohibition Era.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900's - 1910's.

SIZE: Approximately 1 7/8" in height x 1 3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with tongue type C catch

MARKINGS: 1928 – 1932

H. E. FORD

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAEJV15 LEGEX6/15 SLGIEX12/26/24 SAEJX12/26/24

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Badge shows moderate to heavy wear, mostly at high points, but most of the plating details remain intact. The paint that would have been in the lettering and embellishments has long ago been worn away.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
