ARTIFACT:
This is a great Old West circa 1900 Teller County Colorado Deputy Sheriff Hand Stamped Circle Star Badge with the "Been There" look.
This badge is a beauty. The photo box lights slightly bleach out the nice dull pale yellow patina of the unplated nickel. If I didn't know that the county was founded in 1899, I would think this badge to be from the 1880's!
Teller County was home to Old West mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor, Colorado, Teller County was formed just in time to be part of the Colorado Labor Wars, and I'm sure the Deputy wearing this badge saw plenty of action!
Perfect medium sized Circle Star at approximately: 1-3/4" in diameter, a bit larger than a Texas Ranger Badge, this badge was hand hammered into a nice convex disk from the flat sheet nickel, and then the letters and adornments were hand stamped it.
A great piece of Old West Colorado Mining History, and it also has "the Look".
