ARTIFACT:

This is a great Old West circa 1900 Teller County Colorado Deputy Sheriff Hand Stamped Circle Star Badge with the "Been There" look.

This badge is a beauty. The photo box lights slightly bleach out the nice dull pale yellow patina of the unplated nickel. If I didn't know that the county was founded in 1899, I would think this badge to be from the 1880's!

Teller County was home to Old West mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor, Colorado, Teller County was formed just in time to be part of the Colorado Labor Wars, and I'm sure the Deputy wearing this badge saw plenty of action!

Perfect medium sized Circle Star at approximately: 1-3/4" in diameter, a bit larger than a Texas Ranger Badge, this badge was hand hammered into a nice convex disk from the flat sheet nickel, and then the letters and adornments were hand stamped it.

A great piece of Old West Colorado Mining History, and it also has "the Look".

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately: 1-3/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Hand hammered and stamped sheet nickel, nickel plated brass pin, lead solder.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old western police and lawman enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VGEJP23 LCHGEX11/21/23

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Light to moderate wear, nice light patina all around. Pin received a good amount of wear, or the nickel plating was light, as there is little of the plating left.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
