ARTIFACT: This is a 1960s United States Post Office Department Vehicle Service cap badge. The badge is numbered and has a nice Walter & Sons hallmark on reverse. The badge has a great scene in relief of a mail truck parked in front of the Capitol building.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-5/16" in height and 1-15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome-plated brass, painted details.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing and post with clutch-back catch.

MARKINGS: 38694 on front and N.C WALTER & SONS NEW YORK on reverse.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge is in excellent shape with no visible wear and an area of light discoloration on reverse.
