ARTIFACT: Nice WWII USN W. A. V. E. S. Overseas cap and badge. The cap shows a hat badge in the shape of a rope and anchor with propeller behind. The inside shows two tags and an ink printed name: "IVA S. GATLIN". The patch shows the insignia embroidered on twill and reads: "WAVES NATIONAL".

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately Cap: 11-3/8" x 3-1/2"; Badge: 1-1/8" x 1-1/8"; Patch: 2-1/2" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt, cotton/silk/polyester thread, twill, gauze, gilt sterling, satin

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The overseas cap shows moderate wear, two moth nips (see photo), the cap badge shows moderate wear, some of the plating details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
