ARTIFACT: Nice Philippine Insurrection Period United States Army 15th Cavalry, Troop A Enlisted Man hat badge. The badge is two crossed cavalry swords with the cavalry number, "15" above and the troop letter, "A" below. The Insurrection Period, also known as the Philippine-American War was a three year war that took place June of 1899 through July, 1902 and the American victory resulted in the dissolution of the First Philippine Republic and nearly 250,000 civilian casualties.

VINTAGE: Circa 1899 - 1902

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" x 1-1/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt bronze

ATTACHMENT: Single post with screw back

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MCJV15 LAGEX12/15

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The hat badge show moderate wear, oxidation to reverse screwback, and some of the plating details remain intact.
