ARTIFACT: This is a very nice example of a World War II Nazi Army Panzer assault badge in bronze by A.S. (please see "Msrkings" section below for more details). The badge is an oval wreath of oak leaves framing a tank, with an eagle and swastika at its top. This badge is a recent acquisition from a United States veteran, along with two others that are being sold separately (please see links at the bottom of page for more information).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/16" in height and 1-11/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze with brass & metal findings.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with C catch on base plate.

MARKINGS: A.S. within triangle. The reverse is well marked with embossed, stylized, overlapping manufacturer's initials in a triangle: "AS", indicating manufacture by either Adolf Scholze of Grnwald or Adolf Schwerdt of Stuttgart. The debate continues. .
