ARTIFACT: Nice 1940's - 50's New York City police department Inspector rank miniature or wallet badge. The center shows the Seal of New York City in gilt, raised detail against a background of blue enamel and surrounding it reads: "CITY OF NEW YORK POLICE INSPECTOR". The top of the badge shows an eagle perched with wings spread, head bowed, and feathers grasped in its talons.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940's – 50's.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/8" x 1-3/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJX16 LAAEX5/16 SAJJX03/19

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine—Excellent): The badge shows minor to moderate wear, much of the enamel and gilt details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
