ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1920s or 1930s detective badge for the State of New Jersey Secret Service, a private detective agency. An employee of the firm later went on to work on the high-profile Lindbergh Baby case. The badge is in the sunburst style and has the Seal of the State of New Jersey at center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s-1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin (catch is missing).

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an old State of New Jersey police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX14 LBIEX7/14

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): The badge has light to medium wear and tarnish and some minor oxidation; some pieces of enamel are missing; the catch is not present.
