ARTIFACT:
Nice 1897 Franklin, New Jersey Fire Annual Fire Parade Ribbon by Whitehead and Hoag in Newark, NJ. The red ribbon is embellished with silver lettering which reads: "MEMBER ANNUAL PARADE FRANKLIN FIRE DEPT." and in the center shows the firefighters emblem and beneath it reads: "FRANKLIN, NEW JERSEY SEPTEMBER 30TH, 1897. The reverse of the ribbon bar reads "WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. BADGE MAKERS NEWARK, N. J." and still shows the paper maker's label fully intact and in part it reads: "The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Badges, Buttons, Banners, and Advertising Novelties Newark, New Jersey" and features a blue ink stamp that reads: "UNION LABEL TYPOGRAPHICAL NEWARK, NO. 105". This parade ribbon came along with a circa 1890's Franklin, New Jersey Fire Department Badge (see link below).

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The ribbon shows minor to moderate age and storage wear, there are a couple tiny holes, possibly pin holes and do not detract, the reverse shows the paper label in its complete form.
