ARTIFACT:
Thisa is a NH Turnpike Patrol Badge. The New Hampshire Turnpike Patrol was started in 1947 for
the new 15 mile four lane US Route 1 bypass limited access highway from the
Massachusetts state line to the Maine border through New Hampshire. The
Turnpike Patrol was dissolved in the early 1970's when the "turnpike"
became part of the Eisenhower Interstate System Route 95 and patrol was taken
over by the New Hampshire State Police. This badge would be an excellent
addition to any State Police / Highway Patrol badge collection.

Circa 1950's.

Approximately 3" x 1-7/8"

Gilt brass, enamel.

Vertical kick pin with drop in locking catch.
