ARTIFACT:
This is an exquisite and near mint example of a beautiful World War I United States Air Service pilot wing by the Homrighous Company of Memphis, Tennessee. The wing has 14 karat gold details on sterling silver with engraving details so fine it were as if it were made by the United States Mint. It would be nearly impossible to upgrade this wing.
Because of a flaw in the maker's mark stamp, these wings were known forever as HomriChous instead of the correct HomriGhous.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:
Approximately 3/4" height and 3-5/8" width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
14 karat gold on sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with "C" catch and four links fastening crest to wings.
MARKINGS:
HOMRIGHOUS CO. MEMPHIS STERLING.
