ARTIFACT: This is a circa World War II leather "blood chit" made in the China-Burma-India theatre. It is in a multi-piece leather construction showing wonderful renditions of the United States and Chinese flags side by side, with Chinese characters written below. Blood chits were a means of communicating one's affiliation and intentions, and were worn upon flight jackets by both pilots and crew. This chit has "USM" written twice on the reverse, and may be a maker's mark of sorts.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 10" in width and 9-1/2" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Multi-piece leather sewn with cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: USM handwritten in two locations on reverse.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJX12 LCGEX12/12 SCEJX12/14

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The chit is in great shape overall with some spots of wear and minor discoloration and one slight chewed spot along the edge.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
