ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1910s or 1920s New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, 2nd Department attendant badge. The Empire State's Appellate Division was created in 1894, divided into four departments, to hear appeals cases. The 2nd Department sits in Brooklyn and covers communities in and around the seat, including Long Island and Staten Island. The gold-filled badge is numbered 4 on reverse and has the State of New York seal at its center. The badge was made by Dieges & Clust.

Circa 1910s-1920s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-13/16" in width.

Gold-filled, enamel.

CONDITION:
7 (Very Fine): The badge has some light wear and minor oxidation with one small area of enamel loss on the "Attendant" banner.
