ARTIFACT: This is a World War I Imperial German naval officer's visor cap and aviation goggles as worn by a zeppelin commander. The cap has a patent leather strap and a lovely bullion insignia.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Cap: approximate size 7; goggles: about 1-3/4" in height and 6-1/2" in width (straps are each 12" total in length).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cap: wool, patent leather, bullion embroidery, muslin lining, leather liner, gold-plated brass; goggles: glass, metal, cotton, shearling, silk.

ATTACHMENT: Goggles: straps with hook and eye closure.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an Imperial Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-JMB-25-VBEJJX11 LBHGEX10/11 SBEJJX2/12

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The cap is in very good condition with some small spots of minor spots of discoloration on the lining and two very small spots of mothing that are shallow. The goggles have areas of moderate wear and some oxidation to the metal details.
