ARTIFACT: This is a Korean War jacket patch for the United States Navy VF-191 (Fighter Squadron 191), as worn aboard the USS Princeton (CV/CVA-37) and later the USS Oriskany (CVA-34). VF-191 served aboard the Princeton from 1951 through 1952 and aboard the Oriskany between 1953 and 1955. The squadron was largely comprised of the Navy's "Blue Angels" members. The patch shows a caped black cat riding a flying pitchfork, about to hurl some lightning bolts. We have one other patch for sale separately that was also worn aboard the USS Princeton during the Korean War and came to us along with this patch (please see link at bottom of page for information).

VINTAGE: Circa 1951-1952 (Korean War).

SIZE: Approximately 3-5/16" in height and 4-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester thread, mesh backing.
