ARTIFACT: This is a circa mid-1950s Japanese-made jacket patch for the United States Navy USS Coral Sea CVA-43, an aircraft carrier launched in April 1946. This patch shows a Grumman F-9F Cougar fighter aircraft flying above the vessel.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads, muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent): The patch shows little wear.
